The Digital Duo – Episode Three
Welcome back to the Digital Duo! In this episode, Tom and I breakdown the market activity across the Digital Marketing and Design & Creative sectors. We also talk about the event Six Degrees ran in partnership with The Centre for Leadership Advantage (CLA), 'Shaping Futures', and key roles we’re working on within the business.
Market Activity
Spring is in the air and things are starting to heat up. Looking at the last 30 days the market has seen some interesting movements and although there are signs of slowing down, hopefully things are on the rise. Looking at our two core areas; Digital Marketing & Creative, we’ve seen candidate activity remain steady at around 32% and 26% respectably; however new jobs advertised are showing something different. Across the Digital Marketing space, we have seen a decrease of 32% of new roles advertised over the last 30 days, and across the Design & Creative, we have seen a decrease of 23% of new roles advertised in the last 30 days.
No real surprise with these stats given it’s the first month of the new financial year, teams are waiting for budgets to be set and plans to be confirmed for the year ahead. Although early signs for September we have already seen a slight increase in activity, so it will be interesting to see how this pans out over the month.
Shaping Futures
In conjunction with the CLA, we were excited to host our first Shaping Futures event, a practical leadership acceleration workshop for emerging female leaders. Over 30 women came together in Melbourne for the workshop, which provided emerging leaders with the key capabilities, confidence and motivation to learn and grow as effective leaders.
