Six Degrees recently hosted a knowledgeable panel of speakers who shared their stories on Diversity and Inclusion over breakfast at the RACV Club in Melbourne.
The event featured keynote presentations by Andrea Pearman from Australia Post/ Inclusive Australia and Cameron McIntyre from Carsales.com, followed by an interesting panel discussion where Daniel Mottau from Zendesk and Jo Allan, CPO of Carsales.com.au joined a panel discussion and Q&A with the audience.
The speakers shared information about their company programs around D&I, challenges they faced, as well as practical advice and learning from their experience implementing Diversity and Inclusion in their organisations.
The conversation included a variety of different elements of the topic of Diversity and Inclusion such as the importance of buy-in and empowerment at different organisational levels, managing cultural fit and inclusion, avoiding unconscious bias and stereotypes, age and gender diversity, the use of quotas, and the importance of a learning mindset.
