The Australian Ballet is one of the world’s leading national ballet companies and a globally recognised Australian major performing arts organisation. Each year the company presents upwards of 220 performances through its main stage seasons in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra and Perth along with public programs, special events, an extensive regional tour, a Children’s Ballet and Education programs and regular overseas tours.
Orchestra Victoria, (OV), provides pit services for ballet and opera in Victoria, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Australian Ballet. The Australian Ballet and Orchestra Victoria have an annual turnover of more than $70 million and employ over 265 staff.
About the role
The Head of Brand and Content is responsible for leading the world class creative vision and content strategy for The Australian Ballet brand. This position is responsible for overseeing all creative initiatives and ensuring that The Australian Ballet brand voice resonates across all platforms. The role will require strategic thinking delivered through a passion for storytelling and an understanding of marketing platforms and campaign messaging.
This role will serve as a custodian of the brand, working closely with the Director of Marketing and Brand and the Artistic Director to ensure alignment and consistency across all brand initiatives.

Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Administration, Marketing, Communications, Design, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in managing creative development of campaign materials from brief to rollout across a range of channels. Creative agency experience essential.
- Demonstrated experience managing workflow of creative outputs essential
- Extensive experience in leading teams, in particular, leading teams of creative employees
- Understanding of workflow and project management systems. Monday.com desirable
- Demonstrated experience working hands on, on photo and video shoots
- Strong understanding of the arts landscape and the ability to engage diverse communities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in ticketing tools, Tessitura preferred
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for the arts
