The diary of an elite getaway
By: Scott Logan
At Six Degrees Executive, we love celebrating wins. And celebrating in the best way! Since our inception, we have celebrated our wins with an annual Elite Trip, an initiative that rewards our highest performing consultants.
Each year, the highest performers are whisked away to a destination for a long weekend of rewarding festivities. This year, our Elite crew travelled to Bali and had a jam-packed weekend of fun and celebration.
Day One
An early morning airport wakeup was followed by our group’s flight to Bali. On arrival, we were whisked away to the deluxe villas complete with amazing tropical style pools. After being shown our suites, we were greeted with care packages, with the all-important sunscreen to keep the tropical sun at bay. Having settled in, not even a patch of rain could dampen our evening.
Day Two
We greeted the morning with a refreshing sunrise yoga class followed by a breakfast with the group. After a spot of brekkie, we spent the morning learning how to make traditional Balinese food in a cooking class. Our different levels of ability were definitely on display, as some of the more novice chefs in the group forgot the golden rule of not touching your eyes after handling chilli! We learnt the antidote this common mistake is coconut oil. We ate the fruits of our labour before returning to the villas.
We spent the afternoon playing games by the pool and listening to jamming to great tunes. After a show of gratitude from the managers and a cheers to making the Elite, we ended up famous Bali restaurant Merah Putih for a dining experience. The epic day was rounded off with dancing at La Favela.
Day Three
After a big night out, there’s nothing that a delicious breakfast won’t fix. We were then whisked away to Café Del Mar where we got to spend the day relaxing in the sun and eating incredible local cuisine. After a day of relaxing and dancing, we rounded it off with karaoke in the bus on the way to Fish Bone. The evening ended up with everyone back in the pool.
We were all so grateful to have earned a place on this incredible, once-in-a-lifetime trip. Bonding with one another and becoming entrenched in local customs and cuisine was the perfect refresher to another stellar year for Six Degrees.
