What is really causing the Coles & Woolies duopoly?
By: Nick Hindhaugh

Australian business entrepreneur, Dick Smith, has weighed in on the debate about the dominance of Coles & Woolies. He has echoed the statements Kate Carnell made at the recent Thought Leadership Seminar held by Six Degrees.
In a recent article in Australian Food News Dick Smith said people should stop blaming Coles and Woolworths for their size and market dominance. Instead, the blame should be placed on the Australian politics and the economic system.
He has made a submission to the Senate Select Committee, he claimed the duopoly has been created by "political masters who don't show the leadership that is necessary to tell us the downside of the extreme capitalism that we are now heading towards because of the limits of growth."
