Key Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Manager, you will lead and mentor the maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. You’ll manage workforce planning, including scheduling, leave management, and rotating rosters, while also conducting performance reviews and developing training plans for direct reports. Overseeing contractor activities and collaborating across departments will be key to ensuring organisational goals and objectives are met.
You will also develop and implement strategic plans to optimise asset and resource utilisation. This includes driving the Professional Maintenance pillar of the Manufacturing Systems process—enhancing Mean Time Between Failures, reducing Mean Time to Repair, standardising maintenance procedures, and managing the Emergency Work Order process. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for managing the Repair & Maintenance budgets, working closely with the Engineering Manager on capital budgeting, and partnering with the Production team to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Your role will also involve leading technical teams in project execution, improving infrastructure systems (energy, water, treatment, steam), ensuring HACCP compliance, and maintaining adherence to all safety policies and procedures.

Requirement

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven professional with a strong technical background and a passion for leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing maintenance teams, optimising operations, and driving efficiencies in an FMCG environment. You should be able to balance hands-on problem-solving with strategic thinking to continuously improve performance.

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably electrical but open to mechanical0
  • Proven leadership experience in a maintenance or engineering environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage budgets and optimise resource allocation
Desirable:
  • Experience in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods environment
  • Knowledge of HACCP and industry-specific compliance requirements
  • Experience in managing capital projects and driving innovation
