About the business

This FMCG player has continued to evolve and grow from strength to strength via a mix of strong capital investment, proactive sharing of what good looks like across multiple business units, and an organisation-wide focus on putting the right foundation pieces in place for their operations to thrive. With a commitment to quality underpinning the product known and loved nationally, this manufacturer continues to gain market share across major retailers.

Some context on the role, what you're stepping into?

Stepping into a Shift Manager role across a flagship manufacturing site in the South East, you will inherit a business that has invested heavily in what good looks like - across product, process, automation and systems to match their growth ambitions. At a leadership level, you have a peer group of highly committed operators with a wealth of experience in the consumer goods landscape who will give you the autonomy and the support to succeed in this crucial operations leadership role.

What you'll inherit, will be a team with strong engagement levels and an appetite to go to the next level capability-wise. At a micro level, this is developing your team into a broader skilled unit who can pinch-hit across multiple lines and contribute effectively to wider site projects and organisational goals. At a more macro focus, this looks like delivery on CI outcomes, driving Operational Excellence across the shift and continuing the proactive focus to safety that is at the heart of the business.

You'll be managing a lean team in a high volume food environment, reporting directly into manufacturing leadership.

What are we looking for?

Away from the tangible factors in experience levels and product/processing exposure, we're looking for manufacturing leaders who can bring a team together towards a common goal, set the standards for what good looks like in a shift environment and motivate the team to continually elevate the baseline of performance.

  • 3-5 years experience within a shift leadership role
  • Food manufacturing experience essential
  • Sound fundamental understanding of CI principles
  • Demonstrated leadership acumen, ability to grow team
