Due to growth and expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the finance team. About the Role:
As the Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing core accounting functions, with a focus on traditional accounting tasks such as journals, ledgers, and payroll. Additionally, you will work closely with various business teams, providing valuable insights to help improve cost of goods sold , identify opportunities for cost reduction, and drive business improvements.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Core Accounting Functions (60%):
    • Oversee the preparation and posting of traditional journals and ledgers.
    • Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Perform month-end and year-end close activities.
    • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the reporting of financial information.
  • Business Partnership & Financial Analysis (40%):
    • Partner with different teams to understand financial performance and provide guidance on cost control and reduction initiatives.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the cost of goods sold and identify areas of efficiency improvements.
    • Provide actionable insights and financial recommendations to help drive operational performance and profitability.
    • Develop and present financial reports and dashboards to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Design and build PowerBI dashboards to support decision-making across the business.
    • Interpret financial data and present complex information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.
 
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA qualification is preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to payroll and general ledger management.
  • Experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a strong understanding of financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI or similar data visualisation tools is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to think strategically
