Our client is a well revered and prevalent business who are a leading national supplier and installer to the residential building industry. They are currently seeking a brand-new Business Development Manager to unlock the immense potential of their Northern NSW territory, targeting clients across New Residential, Multi-Residential, Aged Care, and Retail/Wholesale markets.
The business is a highly profitable family business and offers a close-knit, mature culture. The role requires an individual capable of conversing, and converting new business with, a wide array of construction-based stakeholders, going from North Sydney and Central Coast up to Newcastle and Northern NSW.
About the role
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth, acquire new clients, and enhance relationships with existing clients. This role involves market research, lead generation, and forging strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. This role is geared towards seizing a territory with immense potential for growth, so our client requires an entrepreneurial self-starter and self-professed 'hunter' of new business. The role will also entail maintaining robust relationships with their tier 1 & 2 existing accounts.

Responsibilities
- Proactively manage customer communications including service delivery, customer prioritisation, problem solving and advice.
- Identify and target new business opportunities and markets.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue and achieve business goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Contribute to your own and others health and safety by promoting safety practices in your everyday duties and adhere to WH&S policy and procedure.
- Conduct market research and analysis to understand trends, competition, and client needs.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client requirements are met and solutions are delivered effectively.
- Negotiate schedule of rates and agreements with clients.
- Monitor and report on sales performance and business development metrics.
- Attend industry events and networking functions to promote the company and generate leads
To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate
- Strong understanding of residential building market dynamics and industry trends.
- Proven track record in business development, sales, or a related role.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- A consultative and solution orientated sales methodology, someone who can partner strategically with a customer to understand pain points and craft an appropriate solution.
- Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
