Job Type: permanent

About the business

Our client is a leading food manufacturer located in regional Victoria. This business has a strong footprint supplying premium product into both grocery and B2B channels, with plans to expand further into the export market.

This premium product is underpinned by a strong FSQ program at site level, with FSANZ/HACCP/SQF certifications already embedded across the business. Having invested significantly from both a people and a capability perspective, this is a great time for an aspiring food QA leader to join this organisation.

About the role

Working alongside a strong FSQ leader, the Quality Coordinator will act as the de-facto 2IC for all things quality management at both a site level and more broadly across the FSQ program. This role is pitched at an aspiring Quality Manager who is looking to take that next step in their career journey, who can oversee day to day an existing QA team and support the QM at site level.

Working closely with operations, this role will include:
  • Audit support across a wide variety of compliance frameworks - FSANZ/HACCP/SQF/CFMSR
  • Training and development across both the QA team and front line operations with regards to good FSQ practices
  • Gap analysis and subsequent implementation of corrective actions

What we are looking for?

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Food Science/Chemistry/Biology or similar
  • Exposure within an FMCG setting. Food is considered most desirable, but would also consider settings such as pharmaceuticals/cosmetics for the right individual
  • Demonstrated experience developing and mentoring junior staff within a manufacturing environment - if you've been responsible in some capacity for a formal or informal program in this manner, that'd be desirable
  • Strong communication skills - able to bridge technical concepts at a high level with non-food science professionals
  • Leadership capability - someone who can drive change and promote a CI agenda within a food setting
