The Role
Reporting into the Head of Marketing, The Marketing Manager - Trade is tasked with the growth of the businesses Paints portfolio in their largest channel. Working alongside the rest of the brand team, and closely partnering the trade sales and activation teams, the Marketing Manager ensures the marketing and business objectives of Australia and New Zealand are achieved with excellence. The Marketing Manager will autonomously manage the brand portfolio within the Trade/Professional Channel, in addition to leading projects within trade to achieve brand sales and equity metrics. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for design and deliver of Trade Marketing fundamentals including perfect store, loyalty programs, and trade focused communication and events programs.

Responsibilities
STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLANNING
- Develop and implement the marketing plan for the portfolio within trade/professional channels to achieve Net Sales, Share and Profitability targets.
- Contribute to the development of a 3-year strategic plan for the brand portfolio.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, aligning marketing strategies with sales plans.
- Keep abreast of paint market trends and competitors, ensuring awareness of activities and programs.
- Collaborate with local and global R&D teams to identify new product opportunities aligning with the Business Strategy.
- Develop and implement promotion and advertising activities for the portfolio targeted toward the trade/professional audience.
- Execute new product development plans to achieve marketing objectives.
- Analyse marketing, trade, and consumer research to provide recommendations to the Business.
- Collaborate with sales, technical, finance and supply chain and manufacturing
- Present marketing plans and new product ranges to trade, commercial and professional customers.
- Partner with creative and media agencies, maintaining brand stewardship.
- Monitor stock levels, obsolescence risks, and participate in regular product review meetings.
- Performance Measures / KPIs:
- Achievement of brand health KPIs, awareness & conversion
- Integrated marketing programs to deliver brand objectives and strengthen brand equity metrics in line with targets within the trade channel.
- Development of channel plan with channel marketing and sales to identify in-store activation/programs to generate incremental sales and/or profitability.
- Review sales performance regularly, recommending changes in pricing and product mix.
- Monitor and control marketing expenditure, conduct financial analysis, and review brand/product performance.
- Monitor SKU performance within trade/professional channels, advising the Business Team and recommending adjustments as appropriate.
Key Requirements
- Tertiary qualification within either Marketing/Commerce/Business/Arts/Law is essential.
- 8+ years marketing or brand management experience within FMCG/consumer goods, including some B2B experience with proven record of achievement
- Experience building and driving brand & portfolio strategy
- Comfortable with all marketing disciplines including working closely with creative, design, digital & media agencies to develop outstanding advertising creative and media programs.
- Solid commercial understanding and experience including insight into competitor and commercial strategies and activity.
- Loyalty program development and delivery.
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Annual planning, financial and performance management. Understanding of Revenue Growth Management is highly desirable.
- Insight identification and deep consumer empathy
