Our client is a reputable transportation business based in the western suburbs of Melbourne, who are looking for immediate support within their accounting team.
 

About the role
 
This position is a 2-month full time contract role working 5 days out of their offices in Tottenham. The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for managing the company’s incoming payments, ensuring accurate invoicing, and maintaining positive relationships with clients while overseeing the timely collection of outstanding debts.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of transactions.
  • Process incoming payments, including bank transfers, cheques, and credit card payments.
  • Generate and issue invoices to clients, ensuring all details are correct and aligned with agreements.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies between the accounts receivable ledger and bank statements.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts, maintaining communication with clients to ensure timely payment and resolve disputes.
  • Prepare and send out monthly statements to clients, reflecting accurate balances and payment history.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, prepare aging reports, and help improve accounts receivable processes. 
 
About you
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable functions with good understanding of accounting procedures.
  • High level of attention to detail with proven level of quality and accuracy of work.
  • Strong reconciliation skills.
  • Proactive research, analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • True team player.
  • Intermediate level of Word and Excel.
