About the Role:

This role is a 6 month contract position with an immediate start and the possibility of conversion into a permanent role at its conclusion.
The Continuous Improvement Eningeer is responsible for the development, operations and deployment of advanced manufacturing machinery and equipment supporting the delivery of R&D projects. This role focuses on the quality, safety, operations, development and scale up of a wide range of pilot scale manufacturing and analytical equipment. The role will be part of a cross functional team, working closely with research and manufacturing to provide hands on expertise, machine specification, machine improvement, process development and integration of new technologies into a global manufacturing business. This position requires an experienced, motivated, flexible and performance driven person to support the R&D business in delivering results and driving projects forward. 


Responsibilities:
  • Lead technology (machinery) scale up from research into manufacturing.
  • Specification, design, commissioning, and safety of state-of-the-art process equipment in research and manufacturing environments Deliver presentations and make recommendations to the R&D Senior Leadership team based on strong scientific experimentation and data analysis
  • Take a hands-on approach to operational improvement and operations of pilot plant, focusing on quality, efficiency and reliability of plant. Use experience with component selection in working directly with suppliers to ensure their parts meet system requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with manufacturing personnel, vendors, and suppliers to deliver the best solution to the business
About you:
  • Bachelors of Engineering (Process/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering desired)
  • 5+ years relevant experience in an engineering environment (manufacturing, mining and equipment)
  • Desirable experience in Equipment OEM, PCI or Maintenance Engineering Roles
  • Knowledge and experience in continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes
