About the role

The Engineering Manager role will be newly created in the business off the back of an agenda to develop, grow and modenise plant capability onsite. Regarding the manufacturing process on site, the business is of an industrial nature - think hydraulics, pneumatics and pressing processes. The team you will inherit includes a mix of engineering, mechanical design and maintenance, with a remit overseeing a multi-million dollar maintenance and capital budget.

Insofar as focus, projects and mandate, this role will drive industrial engineering activities onsite across process improvement, efficiency upgrades and be the driver for introducing a level of automation to site.

What we are looking for

Given the industrial process nature of the site, this role would be best suited to someone who has industry exposure across a mechanical background - think industrial/packaging/automotive or similar where you will be familiar with hydraulics and pneumatic systems. Profile wise, you will be mechanically minded, circa 5 years+ experience in a manufacturing capacity within a relevant role such a Plant Engineer/Industrial Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer working on appropriate projects and processes. Your scope of work will have included:
  • Process optimisation - centred around manufacturing efficiency upgrades and workflow improvements
  • Project management - end to end from budgeting and business case through to successful delivery
  • Maintenance support - while not a hands on maintenance role, this role does include leadership of the maintenance function including external trades
  • OH&S - sound understanding of safe working methodologies in an industrial manufacturing setting and ensuring scope of work is carried out with this in mind.
