A dynamic and robust company committed to continued growth as a leader in quality products and solutions for specialist fluid transfer applications. With over 50 years of experience, the company supplies equipment for storing and transferring bulk liquids such as petroleum and dry bulk. 

We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician with a strong industrial manufacturing background. The ideal candidate will have experience with Quality Management Systems, preferably ISO 9001, and the ability to meet deadlines by independently prioritizing daily tasks. Your role will be crucial in satisfying both internal and external customers and achieving our business KPIs while promoting a culture of quality and safety in the workplace. It is a hands-on roll, experience working with casted parts and components and calibration of measuring equipment such as Vernier, Micrometer, gauges is essential. As this is a permanent role, candidates must have full Australian work rights.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine visual, dimensional, and functional inspections, along with objective tests for incoming parts, in-process production, and finished goods.
  • Ensure all products meet testing requirements, specifications, and customer standards.
  • Document and report inspection findings, monitor corrective actions, and assist in identifying non-conforming products.
  • Raise Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and ensure preventive actions are completed within specified timeframes.
  • Maintain quality-related data for analysis and reporting in accordance with the Quality framework.
  • Provide technical support for prototypes and product quality improvement requests, addressing customer complaints effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain quality and service standards.
  • Ensure the calibration of test equipment is maintained.
  • Keep records and files of certificates of conformity, both internal and external.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Trade qualifications in Fitter/Machinist OR Mechanical Engineering qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in QC/QA within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using and calibrating measuring equipment (e.g., Vernier, Micrometer, gauges).
  • Basic knowledge of electronics and mechanical components.
  • A solid background in mechanical engineering/manufacturing with knowledge of production processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering and technical drawings.
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of health and safety best practices and legislation.
  • Strong problem-solving and design-for-manufacture skills.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes or similar.
  • Experience with CMM machines or portable inspection arms.
  • Initiative and responsibility in your work.
  • Energetic, dynamic, and positive attitude with strong lateral thinking and reasoned decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to learn, improve, and adapt.
