Role Overview:
Our client is seeking an Area Sales Manager based in Melbourne to manage sales across Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, and New Zealand. The successful candidate will focus on driving growth by managing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities, and strengthening customer relationships. This role involves regular client engagement, hands-on technical support, and ensuring the company’s product and service offerings are well-represented across the territories.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the sales pipeline for defined territories, focusing on both existing and new business development.
  • Provide technical training and support to customers during site visits, demonstrating the value of the product range.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, from senior management to technical staff, influencing purchasing decisions.
  • Proactively generate and follow up on leads to identify new opportunities within emerging industries.
  • Participate in and deliver product demonstrations, workshops, and training sessions to showcase technical solutions.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the client’s product offerings, ensuring successful territory management and customer satisfaction.
  • Meet KPIs, including weekly customer interactions and revenue growth targets.
 
Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong technical aptitude, ideally with qualifications in material science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture long-term customer relationships, with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • A commercially driven mindset, with a demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, confident in engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • A quick learner who is proactive and adaptable, with the ability to think on your feet.
  • Willingness to travel across territories to develop and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ability to work from a home office.
