About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the Day Shift Maintenance team for a leading manufacturing company in Brisbane. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment to support optimal production and service levels. The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for planning and executing preventative maintenance, managing reactive maintenance, handling capital projects, and leading a team to maintain high standards of operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of maintenance fitters and apprentices, ensuring effective training and skill development.
  • Manage all aspects of machinery maintenance, including troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications.
  • Utilize an electronic maintenance management system to plan and document maintenance activities.
  • Oversee external contractors and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and address technical queries related to equipment.
  • Handle purchasing of maintenance supplies and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage contractors and ensure all maintenance activities meet site policies.
  • Oversee capital projects and ensure timely and effective execution.
  • Lead a team under high-pressure conditions, balancing multiple priorities and ensuring consistent performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree & Engineer Australia Certified
  • Proven experience in high-speed manufacturing environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of team engagement and performance management.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical faults and understanding OHS&E standards.
  • Capital projects experience
