About the Company: 
Our client a global leader in providing sustainable water solutions. They are committed to innovation and excellence, with a dedicated team delivering high-quality products and services such as pumps and filtration systems. We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Officer to join on a 6-month contract basis with a potential view to go permanent. 


About the Role: 
As a Purchasing Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services. You will manage the purchasing process, build strong relationships with suppliers, and contribute to the smooth operation of their supply chain.


Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Review SAP demand and generate purchase orders to procure goods within required timeframes
  • Expediting and de - expediting purchase orders
  • Review and process consumable/sundry purchase requisitions
  • Create and maintain up-to-date PIR and source lists
  • Create purchasing strategy with Product Managers on issues of short supply, promotions and launches
  • Actively participate in cost reduction/savings initiatives
  • Highlight any demand management issues
  • Communicate delays and issues with relevant parties
  • Promote and maintain a partnership with vendors
  • Review and process purchase price variations
  • Request and receive quotes from existing suppliers
  • Assist with New Vendor Selection
  • Complete Vendor Performance Reviews
  • Monitor and communicate vendor delivery performance

Skills and Experience: 
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • SAP experience preferred and Microsoft Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large number of SKUs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, stay organized, and drive to completion
  • A can do attitude
  • High level attention to detail
  • Be a driven and high-energy individual who has strong initiative
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task
